ISLAMABAD:

The Standing Committee on Commerce, on Tuesday, unanimously passed the Imports and Exports (Control) (Amendment) Bill 2022 in an effort to solidify measures to enhance exports.

The committee met in the Parliament House to discuss the performance of the Ministry of Commerce and its attached departments where the bill was also unanimously passed.

While discussing the performance of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the committee directed the Ministry of Commerce to introduce an appraisal system for commercial attaches and bind them to achieving the targets set by the government so that Pakistani exports can advance promptly.

It further suggested that a proper media campaign be launched to show Pakistani traders how to access international markets and sell their products there. To ensure the adoption of concrete measures to extend the network of Pakistani exports worldwide, the committee invited the secretaries of finance, industries, and production as well.
