SIALKOT:

Under the auspices of the Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PGMEA), the Leather Products Development (LPD) Institute Sialkot conducted training courses for women in three different sectors for employment in the local industry.

These courses included glove stitching, sportswear stitching and computerised pattern courses. A total of 75 women received training in these sectors, who would be able to perform their duties efficiently and support their families in a better way.

PGMEA Chairman Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry addressed the ceremony and said that the first priority of the Institute was to enable women to work alongside men in local industries.

He added that there was a dire need for skilled labour in Sialkot and that training courses would help the industry meet international standards.
