Rescuers continue search operation at Sea View

The young woman who is feared to have drowned on the Sea View Beach on Friday evening was still missing.

Around 10 to 12 Edhi divers on two boats searched for the woman in the sea till late on Saturday, but could not find any trace.

The search operation was initiated after police found a handbag lying on the wall on the beach and found the woman's CNIC with her name and address in it.

According to the Sahil police station SHO Azam Rajpar, the Saira Malik, 23, was a resident of Azam Basti, Mehmoodabad, and worked at a veterinary hospital located in the Nishat Commercial Area of Defence Housing Authority.

The police contacted the family on the address found in the bag and informed them about the incident and told them that they fear the she might have drowned.

It was learnt that woman's father worked in the police department.

Saira's family was also unable to say anything about 'why she went to the sea and under what circumstances she drowned'.

Waqar Ahmed, the uncle of the missing girl, said while talking to The Express Tribune that his niece left home for the hospital on Friday afternoon.
