The project of indoor beautification of small and big houses in the city launched by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has remained successful.
After the beautification of the city, the PHA launched a project by the name of 'Phool Bootay' for the indoor decoration of small and big houses, offices, hotels, motels, shops, plazas and shopping malls in Rawalpindi.
Under the project, the PHA started providing small plants of various types to be planted in beautiful pots in the drawing rooms, bedrooms, lawns, gardens halls, TV lounges and corridors of small and big houses for their indoor beautification.
For the decoration of these plants, the supply of beautiful long and round glass jars, vases, earthen pots, small pots, and small hanging pots on the walls was also started.
Over 300,000 families visited the PHA’s ‘Phool Bootay’ stall at Double Road, Shamsabad in a month, where indoor plants, vases and beautiful pots in addition to pesticides, fertilisers and special soil are available for customers. In addition to this, provision of service was also started for big house gardens, landscaping, designing, beautification and flower planting of large lawns.
PHA Chairman Asif Mahmood told The Express Tribune that: “We have built the ‘Phool Bootay’ flower decoration centre for the citizens of the garrison city. Here our experts design and prepare these decorations themselves in various types of pots and vases.”
“We don’t earn any extra profit but just cover the expenses,” he said, adding “private schools have also become our buyers. Islamabad diplomats also come here in large numbers to buy decoration pieces.”
The PHA chairman said that the authority was planning to expand the project. “With our project, all the small and big houses of Rawalpindi city and shops in the streets will be beautified with decorations,” he said.
“The cost of these decoration pieces ranges from Rs300 to Rs2,000, which include the decorative pieces in dozens of designs for all types of home and office beautification,” he added.
He said that the prices are very reasonable, while expensive flowers and plants are also available for those who can afford to buy them.
Among the families who visited the ‘Phool Bootay’ stall, Ibrahim Shah and Chaudhary Masood said that: “We are very happy that our public institutions have started working so well. It is a pleasure to be here. Every design is so beautiful and makes one want to buy and decorate their homes.”
Meanwhile, PHA Chairman Asif Mahmood said that: “if any family wants, we can also design the lawns of their houses. Our goal is to beautify the city of Rawalpindi and make the walls and corridors of all the homes in Rawalpindi beautiful, including the drawing rooms and TV lounges.”
“In a short span of time, this ‘Phool Bootay Centre’ has achieved record success,” he said.
