Minister expresses views while chairing the 20th meeting of the monitoring authority of PHOTA

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said indiscriminate action would be taken against elements involved in the illegal business of organ transplantation in the province.

She expressed these views while chairing the 20th meeting of the monitoring authority of the Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA) on Friday.

She said an awareness campaign will be conducted to make the PHOTA beneficial for the people.

“Training is being given to transplant coordinators of registered hospitals across the province. No leniancny will be allowed against criminals who play with human lives,” she remarked.

Health Secretary Dr Ahmad Javaid Qazi, DG PHOTA Dr Shehzad Anwar,, Prof Ghayasuddin Nabi Tayyab, representative of Finance Department and Dean Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplantation Institute, Dr Faisal Saud Dar, Mian Zahidul Rahman Baata and PHOTA officers attended the meeting.

PHOTA Director General Dr Shehzad Noor gave a briefing to the health minister.
