Artists, running the gamut from actors to singers and models, are more often than not in the spotlight for their work-related projects, be it an upcoming film, performing at a concert or walking the ramp. Their profession requires them to be in the limelight round-the-clock and they do it effortlessly, all while wearing big smiles and beautiful clothes.

But whose personal life isn’t more precious? And the same goes for entertainers too. They have families, they have friends and they have romantic interests. While the latter is what can never be kept hidden from the shutterbugs, social media lights up every now and then with some great news about a big wedding instead of a big project and we won’t lie, such announcements have our heart too!

A bevy of showbiz personalities tied the knot this year, ranging from Pakistani stars to Bollywood and Hollywood. Here’s a lowdown of the happily ever after (s) we lived for this year.

Saboor Aly and Ali Ansari

Saboor sealed the deal with her longtime beau in an afternoon nikkah ceremony in January this year. Yes, it has almost been a year to the wedding! Going for a traditional look, the actor looked ethereal in a gold ensemble. She opted for a gharara with a green and red border, along with a matching dupatta that she pinned over her head in traditional bridal fashion. Sticking to the classics, she accessorised her look with a choker and maala set, as well as a jhoomar and teeka. The groom donned a white kurta pajama, along with a matching shawl and turban. From then until now, the duo serves couple goals like no other!

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor

The Bollywood power couple tied the knot in April in an intimate ceremony. Clad in matching ivory and gold Sabyasachi ensembles, the star duo looked regal to say the least. While Alia completed her look with a chunky polki set and maatha patti, her better half was dressed in pearl strings and a bejeweled turban. Taking to Instagram, Alia penned, "Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home in our favourite spot – the balcony we’ve spent the last five years of our relationship – we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together." Who knew 2022 would be an even luckier year for them as they welcomed their baby girl, Raha, last month.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari

Their love story is one for the books! The couple married on June 9 in a ceremony at their secluded Thousand Oaks home in Los Angeles. The bride wore a sleek, off-the-shoulder custom Versace dress with a leg-revealing slit up one side and a classic white veil with satin edging. Sam complemented Britney’s look in a tux by Versace. The singer met the actor and fitness expert in October of 2016 on the set of her Slumber Party music video when Sam was cast as her love interest. His photo was one of the many that the star had to sift through and select from. She chose him as soon as she laid eyes on him. 

Spears had allegedly been envisioning her wedding day for nearly nine months. "Britney started planning and dreaming about her wedding shortly after she got engaged in November," People magazine quoted a source close to the singer as saying. "It's a huge deal to her that she was finally able to get married. She wanted it to be perfect."

Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar

After being together for four years, the duo said ‘Yes!’ in a dreamy daytime wedding in February this year. Hand in hand, the love birds looked picture-perfect as they made their way down the aisle. Shibani’s lace outfit, a creation of design house JADE by Monica and Karishma, blended in with the floral décor that comprised of an arch complete in red flowers and twigs. The model donned a red corset lace top and matching skirt. She opted for a red net veil that draped to the floor and provided for a surreal bridal look.

Keeping her jewellery to a minimum, Shibani paired the getup with wavy hair and ruby earrings. Farhan complimented the bride’s look in a black tuxedo, featuring wide lapels and a brooch. His million dollar smile was his best and only accessory. As the wedding celebrations wrapped up, Farhan posted on Instagram, “A few days ago, Shibani and I celebrated our union and we are deeply grateful to all those who did respect our need for privacy on the day.”

Mehar Bano and Shahrukh Kazim Ali

Actor Mehar Bano’s festivities kicked off in October this year. While she sported a variety of outfits during her week-long wedding, her baraat look was our favourite. She made a beautiful bride in a classic red Zubia Zainab number, embroidered with silver leaf motifs. The outfit looked regal paired with a smoky bronze eye and a nude lip. For jewellery, she wore a matching set of a choker, teeka and jhoomar. Looking stunning in an updo, the Churails actor knocked it out of the park on her special day!

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

Jen and Ben rekindled a romance almost 20 years after they first got together. Finding their way back to each other, the duo tied the knot in July 2022. "Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. Exactly what we wanted," Lopez wrote while announcing their matrimony. Guests wore all-white while Lopez donned a Ralph Lauren dress that featured ruffles and a veil. Affleck went for a white shirt and blazer, paired with black trousers and a bowtie. The lavish ceremony took at the Good Will Hunting star's estate. Needless to say, ‘Bennifer’ always had our heart and always will!

Muzna Masood and Haris Rauf

The ace cricketer tied the knot with Muzna, a social media influencer based in Islamabad, on December 24, 2022. The lauded bowler donned an ivory sherwani to his Nikkah ceremony, while his wife chose a muted-toned embellished dress from Hussain Rehar's latest bridal collection.

Azeemah Nakhoda and Ali Gul Pir

This Christmas was a lot more festive at the Gul Pir house! The comedian tied the knot with his doctor fiancée Azeemah on Sunday. Ali wore an ivory coat over a kurta pyjama of the same colour with golden textured buttons and a red pocket square to match his bride’s outfit. Azeemah looked gorgeous in a bright red Zainab Zulfiqar ensemble with heavy golden embroidery. She completed her look with heavy earrings, a golden maang tikka, soft makeup and a red pout.
