Kyrgyzstan Ambassador Ulanbek Totuiaev has said that the global economic situation calls for improved economic ties between regional nations as the current state of world economy is challenging.
Speaking at a meeting during his visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the envoy said that the broad experience of LCCI would help enhance economic ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Highlighting that both countries had historical, cultural and economic bonds, he said that Kyrgyzstan was offering great potential for economic cooperation in all fields in a more effective and meaningful way.
“To enhance trade, activities like trade fairs and exhibitions can help,” the Kyrgyz ambassador suggested, adding that the Kyrgyzstan-Pakistan Trade House was inaugurated on Friday.
“Kyrgyzstan offers opportunities for investment in more than 30 projects; in this regard Kyrgyzstan-Pakistan Business Forum can help in a positive way.”
The envoy underlined that Kyrgyz companies were interested in the pharmaceutical and agriculture sectors of Pakistan, adding that textile products of Pakistan were more expensive than those of China and Turkey due to their quality.
He stressed the need for establishing a better banking mechanism to ensure free movement of capital.
