Only three days after making a discovery at Chak-5 Dim South-3 in Sindh, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced a second oil and gas discovery, this time at in District Sanghar.
In a statement released on Thursday, the company said, “The joint venture at the Singhoro Block, comprising of OGDCL as operator (76%), Orient Petroleum (19%) and Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) (5%), discovered oil and gas hydrocarbons from the Kot Nawab-1 exploratory well, located in District Sanghar.”
Kot Nawab-1 was spudded-in on June 3, 2022, as an exploratory well and was drilled down to 3000 metres.“Based on the results of wireline logs interpretation, the Drill Stem Test-1 in the Basal Sand has tested 125 barrel of oil per day (BoPD) and 0.483 million Standard Cubic Feet per Day (MMSCFD) gas through choke size 28/64” at WellHead Flowing Pressure (WHFP) of 150 Pounds per Square Inch (PSI),” read a statement from OGDCL. “This is the 11th discovery in the Sinjhoro Block,” said the OGDCL spokesperson.
