Family of victim had rented dilapidated home seven years ago

A three-year-old boy died after the roof of a house collapsed in the Jhang Bazaar area on Tuesday.

Local police took the body into custody after the incident for legal formalities.

The father of the deceased child claimed that he had asked the owner of his rented house several times to repair the dilapidated roof.

Sulaiman, who works at a restaurant, told reporters that he had acquired the house on a monthly rent of Rs10,000 from Amjad, a resident of Jhang Bazaar, seven years ago.

Due to the collapse of the dilapidated roof of the house on Tuesday afternoon, his three-year-old son Azan died on the spot after the debris fell upon him while he was playing.

The police reached the spot and shifted the body of the child to a hospital.

In July this year, a wall of a house in Tower Wali Street near the Eidgah in Multan had collapsed, killing two siblings, 17-year-old Sadia and 12-year-old Faizan.

Upon receiving the information, rescue teams rushed to the spot and evacuated the bodies to the Nishtar hospital.

In another incident, a woman was killed and a child was injured after the roof of their house in Basti Sandhila Tataypur caved in due to rain.

Rescue 1122 shifted the child to the Nishtar Hospital.

In a yet different incident, a man died when the wall of his house in Behari Colony fell on him. He remained buried under the debris of the wall until he died.

The body of the unidentified victim was shifted to the Nishtar Hospital.

A mud roof collapsed in Basti Billi Wala on Bahawalpur Road, injuring two persons.

Rescue 1122 shifted one of the injured to the Nishtar Hospital, while the other person was provided with first aid on the scene.

A pillar fell on a woman in Suraj Miani area due to rain. Rescue 1122 shifted the victim to the Nishtar Hospital.
