A crisis of shortage of court tickets of Rs1, Rs2, and Rs5 still prevails in the District Katcheri Rawalpindi, despite the passing of 10 days.
Currently, court ticket of Rs10 is being issued twice a week from the district treasury whereas the rest of the court tickets have been discontinued in Katcheri. There has been a significant drop in the availability of these tickets such that only 50 per cent of demand for Rs10 ticket is being met.
As a result, people are facing severe difficulties in filing new cases, filing various petitions in courts, and making of identity cards and domiciles. Unfortunately, these tickets are being sold in black in court. At present, Rs1 ticket is being sold for Rs3, Rs2 ticket is being sold for Rs5 and Rs5 ticket is being sold for Rs8 whereas the Rs10 ticket is being sold for Rs12.
In this regard, the Stamp Vendors Union said that the government has deliberately reduced the number of court tickets due to an internal decision to increase the prices of court tickets therefore this crisis is likely to continue till the final approval of this decision.
Sources revealed that the printing of these tickets has been stopped and will take around 7 to 10 days to restart.
