A National Accountability Bureau (NAB) official has said that the organisation played a vital role in Pakistan’s delisting from the FATF grey list.
Lahore NAB organised an event at Alhamra Arts Council to mark International Anti-corruption Day. Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman attended the event as chief guest.
Delivering a welcome address, Lahore NAB Director General (DG) Ali Sarfraz Hussain maintained that December 9 is observed as International Anti-Corruption Day.
The DG said that the bureau’s core mission was to enact institutional reforms to make it a credible, effective and dynamic anti-corruption organization.
Talking about the ill-effects of corruption on the economy, Sarfraz said that corruption casts a negative impact on any country’s economic state and increases poverty.
