Karachi-Dadu railway section has been restored after three and a half months, officials of Pakistan Railways said on Wednesday.
The movement of trains will be started soon on tracks of this section which was closed due to flood.
The railway track was submerged in the ground at more than 15 different places due to flood, while at Manjhand, Badapur, Lukki, Khanot, the track was completely washed away by torrents.
After three months and 15 days of hard work, the railway workers restored the damaged track. During the maintenance of the track, where heavy machinery was supposed to be used, workers were employed. A pilot cargo vehicle was run ont the track and it was declared clear. The train going from Karachi Kotri will be run from Budapur to Sehwan at a speed of 40kmph.
According to the railway administration, traffic for Bolan Mail, Khushal Khan Khattak Express, and Mohin Jo Daro Express will be restored soon.
