The much-awaited AR/VR headset by Apple has yet again been delayed according to supply chain data gathered by Ming-Chi-Kuo.
The analyst believes the company is fixing software issues and might launch the gadget in the second half of 2023.
Last week, Bloomberg detailed the upcoming headset which will run on “xrOS” platform, instead of “realityOS”. Kuo says that changes and bugs within the xrOS might be the reason for Apple delaying the shipment of the headset.

The speculated date of January as the launch of the AR/VR headset seems unlikely to Kuo and might be “detrimental to promotion and sales.”
He even goes on to predict that the product will be quite niche with a production of “less than 500,000 units” in 2023. Other analysts have ranged production units from 800,000 to 1.2 million units.
