The Paediatric Department at the Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar observed World Pneumonia Day. The aim was to create awareness among the medical staff regarding the treatment of this deadly disease.
In this regard, an awareness session and a walk were organized. In the awareness session, not only the students from the medical department but also the specialist doctors participated.
Professor Dr Aqeel Khattak, the head of PEADS B, while citing statistics, said that more than 100 children die every hour from pneumonia, while according to the WHO figures, more than 700,000 children die every year under the age of five due to this ailment.
