LAHORE:

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has deployed senior officials in the field, besides reshuffling several others in order to improve cleanliness arrangements in the city.

On the direction of LWMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ali Annan Qamar, the company has mobilised its senior officers, including Deputy CEO Fahad Mehmood, Deputy General Manager Operations Bilal Ashraf, in the field for monitoring cleanliness operations.

Both officers, on Monday, visited Aziz Bhatti and Wagah towns to review the cleanliness.

The company has also removed town managers Abdul Rauf and Sumaira Nisar from Wahga Town and Shalimar Town from their posts respectively and directed them to report at the head office.

Meanwhile, Ali Shahid Butt will take charge of Wagah Town and the responsibility of Shalimar Town will be handed over to Hasan Sohail.

From Allama Iqbal Town, Town Manager Umar Fayaz has been removed from the first shift, and the responsibilities have been handed over to Shakeel Wahid Chaudhry. Similarly, Manager Rana Faisal will be responsible for the morning shift as well as the second shift in Nishtar Town. Notifications of all transfer postings have been issued.

LWMC CEO Ali Anan Qamar underscored that reshuffling was inevitable for better service delivery and added officials who will work hard will remain on duty in the towns.

He said negligence in cleanliness matters was not acceptable in any case. “Full attendance of workers in all towns should be ensured by concerned town managers,” he asserted.

He said the company is determined to make the city clean and green.
