KARACHI: US Consul General William Martin called on the chief minister at Chief Minister House on Wednesday. Qaim Ali Shah briefed the diplomat about the losses in the rain-affected areas of Badin, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Tando Mohammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, and Mirpurkhas. He told Martin about the spread of skin- and water-borne diseases in the affected areas. He added that international agencies and non-government organisations are taking part in essential relief activities. The US Counsul General assured Shah that the US government will extend their help for the rain survivors.
