Omni Group sends defamation notice to Imran

Legal action will be taken against him under civil and criminal laws

KARACHI:

Omni Group’s director Abdul Ghani Majeed on Tuesday sent a Rs9 billion defamation notice to PTI chief Imran Khan for levelling allegations of striking a plea bargain with NAB against him during one of his recent speeches.

In the notice sent through his lawyer, Majeed demanded an unconditional apology within a period of 14 days and asked Imran to refrain from making “baseless and fabricated allegations against the Omni Group in future.

He warned that if the former prime minister did not respond to the notice within the said period, legal action will be taken against him under civil and criminal laws.
