The Sindh High Court (SHC) has expressed displeasure over a proposal to pay only Rs200,000 to the heirs of a citizen who died after a PAF trainer aircraft crashed in Karachi’s Baldia Town in June 2014.
The SHC heard a case regarding a claim of Rs290 million against the PAF.
The petitioner’s lawyer adopted the stance that a PAF aircraft crashed in Baldia Town, Karachi in June 2014 in which motor mechanic Sajid Riyasat and a citizen named Ali Akbar were killed.
According to the petitioner, his son, Riyasat, was the sole breadwinner of the family and stated that the plane crashed at his son’s workshop.
The SHC expressed displeasure over the PAF lawyer’s offer of Rs200,000 to the victim’s family and told him not to force the court to issue “strict orders”.
The court granted time to the counsel to consult with his client on the matter.
