Popular Punjabi stage actor and comedian, Tariq Teddy, passed away in Lahore at the age of 46, days after he was shifted to a ventilator due to a prolonged illness. The late actor is survived by his widow, a son Junaid and two daughters, Safa and Marwa.
Doctors at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) revealed that the late actor suffered from liver-related health issues, which reportedly worsened with time, leading to his untimely death.
The King of Laughter, Teddy was born in Faisalabad in the year 1976 and commenced his career in performing arts by 1990. From Mama Pakistani to Abhi To Main Jawan Hun, his contribution to the arts and the theatre world remains noteworthy.
He was also best known for his comedic performance in the 2004 film Salakhain due to his sharp and witty comebacks.
Teddy had a knack for playing clever roles in stage plays and Punjabi films. For forty six years, the actor continued to bring smiles to people's faces with his humour and artistry, regardless of his distressing health problems.
Some of these famous stage dramas are Ji Karda, Do Rangeley, Beatho Beatho Liya Dala, Asli Tay Naqli, Jhoot Bolda, Mirch Masala, Ghoonghat Utha Loon, and Eid Da Chan.
