18 children await reunion with families

Missing and abandoned children live in protective custody at Rawalpindi Child Protection and Welfare Bureau

The Rawalpindi Child Protection and Welfare Bureau on Monday revealed that 18 children in their protective custody await their rightful heirs.

The bureau said efforts to reunite the children, most of them abandoned and pronounced missing, with their families continue. The agency has appealed to the public for help in the search for parents or relatives of these children.

Bureau’s district officer Ali Abid Naqvi has said that their teams were trying their best to find the heirs and relatives of these children on the basis of addresses, telephone numbers and other information provided by children. He said the efforts have remained futile so far as they have failed to locate anyone.

Ayan Saeed son of Saeed, Khushi Khan son of Ismail, Imran son of Ghulam Fareed, Shan son of Zulfiqar, Imran son of Zulfiqar, Raz Mohammad son of Ghulam Haider, Nazim son of Arshad, Ali Hasan son of Basharat and Abdul Hadi are among the children, the bureau reported. Moreover, Naveed and Khalid sons of Habid ul Rehman, Qasim son of Ali Shah, Bilal son of Aslam, Ahmed, Mohsin, Kashif, Ahmed and Mahamd are also waiting for their loved ones, he added.
