LAHORE:

An Anti-Corruption Court judge granted post-arrest bail to accused former deputy speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Dost Mazari in a case of alleged embezzling government’s land.

The accused’s counsel argued that petitioner Dost Mazari had been implicated in forged case merely to humiliate and embarrass him despite the fact that he has nothing to do with this case.

On the other hand, the law officer opposed the bail arguing that there is substantial evidence of Mazari’s alleged involvement in the aforementioned case.

However, the prosecution’s arguments could not satisfy the court as a result of which the anti-corruption judge granted him the post arrest bail.

During physical remand proceedings, the anti-corruption police implored the court that the accused had been allegedly involved in occupying land in Rajanpur.
