The Cannes winner from Pakistan Joyland might compete against India’s RRR at the 80th Golden Globes Award in January 2023, as per Variety. The publication released a list, ahead of the actual nominations, predicting which films, artists, scores and music might run for the awards next year.
For the category of The Best Non-English Film, Variety stated five names as its prediction for the Globes. Starting from RRR, an Indian film, the list named All Quiet on the Western Front from Germany, Bardo (or False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths) from Mexico, Decision to Leave from South Korea and last but not least, Saim Sadiq’s Joyland from Pakistan.
