‘Terrorist’ held in Sukkur

According to spokesman, a rifle, bullets, 15 detonators, 800 grams of nut bolts, ball bearings were recovered from him

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a member of the banned Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM), Riyan Ahmed, during a raid at the National Highway Dargah Shah Owais Cemetery in the Khairpur area of Sukkur.

According to the spokesman, a rifle, bullets, 15 detonators, and 800 grams of nut bolts and ball bearings have been recovered from him. He admitted that he is a member of the banned JSMM and had been involved in anti-state activities on several occasions under the direction of Zulfiqar Jamali and JSMM Commander Shabbir Malah.

Moreover, he is proficient in manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and remotely operated bomb devices, and he provided training in these areas.

According to CTD, Riyan has been involved in railway track blasts in Qazi Ahmad, and blasts on the gas pipeline in Sanghar and Nawabshah along with his associates Darya Khan Malukani, Nizam Uddin Kakipoto and Shabir Malah among others between 2013 and 2020.
