A seven-day polio drive is set to commence in Rawalpindi from Monday (today) followed by another drive to administer the second dose of covid-19 vaccine to children by the end of the month.
The District Health Authority has completed preparations for the seven-day anti-polio campaign and the second dose campaign to inoculate children against the coronavirus.
An official of the authority said a proper micro-planning has been done for the campaign and the method of counseling parents who refuse to administer polio drops to their children.
Special attention will be given to children in the areas from where the environmental samples have tested positive for polio.
During the campaign, over 0.9 million will be vaccinated against polio, for which 7 lac 63 thousand 242 households will be targeted.
Around 858 area in-charges, 243 UC MOs, 3687 mobile teams and 182 transit teams will perform their duties during the campaign.
Additionally, 320 fixed centres have been designated for the drive.
Meanwhile, from October 31 to November 3, children aged five to twelve years will be administered the second dose of the vaccine against Coronavirus, for which arrangements have been completed.
