HARIPUR:

The foundation stone of Kotla Hospital was laid on Monday and the construction work on the project will start soon.

Speaking on the occasion, Haripur District Health Officer Munawwar Khan Afridi said that the establishment of this hospital will facilitate the citizens in every way possible. The hilly hospital has been upgraded such that a dental unit was inaugurated where x-ray machines and solar systems were provided to facilitate the incoming patients. A labour room is also expected to open soon.

The official expressed his firm determination to bring further improvement in hospitals in the area.

The hospital aims to provide medical facilities to the people of Barkot, Makhanyal, Islamabad, and adjacent areas so that both travellers and tourists could benefit from the facility.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Akbar Ayub Khan has ordered authorities concerned to expedite the construction work of Haljdal-Chandurgli Road, without compromising on its quality.

The lawmaker issued these orders while paying a visit to the construction site.

He also evaluated the progress of the work during his visit. The 12-kilometer road is estimated to be constructed at a cost of Rs400 million.

The road is designed to have an eighteen feet blacktop and three-foot PCC shoulders on both sides.

Villages including Janjaka, Maliara, Kandiala, Darkala, Sandhganda, Kand kalu Khan, Kurlakian, Baralian, Baghdara, Village Council Lalugli, Tehsil Darband, and hundreds of other villages in the Mansehra district would benefit from the road's construction.

The current distance will be cut short by around 45 kilometers once the project sees the light of day.

This will also bring down the travel time by 1.5 hours. The road was previously sanctioned as a 12-feet-wide road with an estimated cost of Rs250 million, but MPA Akbar Ayub Khan increased its width to 24 feet.
