ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has made Akbar S Babar a party in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) petition against the Election Commission's decision in the prohibited funding case.

A three-member bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Babar Sattar heard the PTI’s plea.

The court rejected the PTI’s plea requesting not to make Akbar S Babar a party, saying that Babar be a part of all the proceedings in the prohibited funding case.

The court said, “There is no justification for keeping Akbar S Babar out of the court proceedings at this stage. The court accepts the request to make Akbar S Babar a party.”
