An application seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif under Article 62(1)(f) has been filed before the Supreme Court.
The plea has been filed by PTI leaders Andleeb Abbas and Hassaan Niazi through Advocate Asad Manzoor Butt.
The application stated that PM Shehbaz during his visits abroad had been meeting proclaimed offenders and convicts.
It noted that an accountability court had sentenced PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to 10 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs8 million on him.
PM Shehbaz met Hussain Nawaz, Suleman Shehbaz and Ishaq Dar during his foreign visits and also brought Dar to Pakistan in his plane, it added.
The plea stated that all these measures by the premier were a violation of the Constitution and law, adding that the PM had misused his powers.
Seeking the disqualification of PM Shehbaz under Article 62(1)(f), the application requested the apex court to restrain the cabinet members including the interior minister and foreign minister from performing their duties until a decision on the plea was announced.
