PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday once again accused the members parties of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) of politicizing national issues for their vested interests and stopping funds transfers to K-P in a useless attempt to create instability and spread uncertainty in the province.

He added that the current federal cabinet is inept to run the federation and are engaged in a fruitless exercise to marginalize K-P, adding that the popularity of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is increasing with every passing day despite multiple conspiracies being hatched by the current federal government which have put to the wind every social and political norm in a futile attempt to tarnish the popularity of PTI at provincial and national level.

He said this while talking to two separate delegations from district Bannu and Dir led by provincial minister Shah Muhammad Wazir and ex-MNA Bashir Khan.

On the occasion, independently elected village council chairmen from Bannu formally announced joining PTI.

Similarly, ex-candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Iqbal Khan and Raheem Khan from Jamat-e-Islami (JI) along with hundreds of political followers also announced joining PTI.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that under the leadership of chairman Imran Khan, PTI will continue its struggle for achieving real independence of the country.

He also made it clear that PTI will form government not only in K-P but will be the sole party that represents the entire federation in the upcoming general elections.

He added activists from multiple political parties are joining PTI which is evidence that PTI has emerged as the only party which is trusted by majority because of its sincere and dynamic leadership.

He made it clear that chairman Imran Khan is striving for the real freedom of the country, one that has an independent foreign policy focused on the betterment of its citizens.

Touching upon the development strategy in the province, the chief minister said that the provincial government is facing financial constraints due to the non-provision of funds as per the commitment by the federal government, but despite this the ongoing development projects in the province will be completed and the federal government will not be allowed to marginalize the province.

The chief minister said that the provincial government is taking all possible steps for the timely and quality completion of the ongoing public welfare projects, adding that K-P is the only province which has ensured devolution of powers by holding of local body elections aimed at resolving public issues at their doorsteps.

He added that LG system will be empowered in the future and all its problems would be solved on priority basis.

Mahmood Khan urged local government representatives to solve the problems faced by general public at grass root level in the province and said that government would support them by all means.

He said that K-P was the first province where LG elections were held and LG system was the top priority of his government.
