SHC orders submission of challan in ‘man burnt son alive’ case

Court gave respite to the IO for the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till October 11

The Judicial Magistrate West ordered the Investigating Officer (IO) to submit a challan in the next hearing of the case of the accused burning his 12-year-old son alive over unsatisfactory studies.

The case was heard in the court of Judicial Magistrate West in the Karachi City Court on Tuesday where the police produced the arrested accused Nazir Khan but the IO failed to submit the case challan.

The court gave respite to the IO for the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till October 11.

The victim's mother said that before the incident the accused Nazir had threatened to set her son on fire.

According to the police, the father sprinkled kerosene oil on 12-year-old Shaheer and set him on fire for showing unsatisfactory studies.
