More Punjab hospitals to be upgraded

Minister said the shortage of doctors in both the hospitals would also be addressed

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that government hospitals are being upgraded to provide better medical facilities to the people of Chakwal.

Reviewing the health facilities for the people of Chakwal during a meeting, she said the two Tehsil headquarters level hospitals in Talagang were being improved.

A central oxygen system is being installed in the city hospital and the construction of cardiac and trauma centres for upgrading the health facility is included in the annual development scheme. The civil work in the Talagang Tehsil headquarters and city hospitals will be completed by May next year. The parking system in the city hospital is also being improved.

The minister said the shortage of doctors in both the hospitals would also be addressed.

Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Dr Irshad Ahmad and Development Special Secretary Fatima Sheikh gave a briefing to the minister.

Punjab Assembly Member Hafiz Ammar Yasir also attended the meeting.
