KARACHI: After regaining his place in the national team, all-rounder Shoaib Malik is all set to earn the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) central contract.

According to a PCB official, Malik, who was not given the central contract earlier due to his pending case with the integrity committee, will soon be awarded with one.

“It was Malik’s non-clearance that kept him away from the central contracts list,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune. “Since he’s been cleared, the PCB might be awarding him one soon.”

The official hinted the all-rounder will be given an ‘A’ category contract.

Meanwhile, chief selector Mohsin Khan felt that Malik should be an automatic selection for the central contract after being cleared by the integrity committee.

Today central contract tomorrow Captain. In Pakistan, "right connections" is the only pre-requisite to take one to the higher places.
