The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday said that chances of further monsoon rains in Karachi are over. However, it predicted light rain in various parts of the metropolis for the next few days, Express News reported.
According to Chief Meteorologist Karachi Sardar Sarfraz, the monsoon period in Karachi begins from July 15 and continues till September 15 but this year, the monsoon rains started earlier from July 1.
He said that during the next few days, due to the low-lying clouds hovering over the coast, there is a possibility of drizzling in the port city, adding that there is no chance of monsoon rains in rural Sindh as well.

The weathermen predicted that the weather in the city will remain partly cloudy for the next three days whereas there is a possibility of light rain in the night and morning hours.
During the said period, it added that the maximum temperature in the city will remain between 31°C to 33°C. The southwesterly sea breeze will continue to blow during the next three days.
The maximum temperature of the city on Friday was 31.1 °C while the humidity in the air was 71 per cent.
