RAWALPINDI:

To curb the growing unemployment of educated and skilled youth, the Punjab Labour Welfare Department has launched regular online registration for employment in the private sector with the slogan of "Awam Dost Mazdoor Dost".

After the registration of 100 unemployed youth by the Punjab Job Centre of Labour Welfare Department Rawalpindi, their applications have been sent to factories and largescale business centers with recommendations for employment.

Director Labour Welfare Rawalpindi Division, Chaudhry Fazal Hussain, says that the Punjab Job Center is a revolutionary step of the government to provide employment to the educated and skilled unemployed youth in the private sector.

Visitors to this center can self-register at the computerised machine installed here and the staff members are also available to assist them. After registration, the applications are sent to other major business centers of the private sector including factories, workshops, and medical stores with recommendation for employment so that the unemployed youth can be employed wherever there are employment opportunities.

The youths, who came with their documents to the Punjab Job Centre of the Labour Welfare Department, said that this is a good initiative of the government and that they will be able to get employment wherever there is an opportunity. “We are likely to get employment and are hopeful of getting jobs,” they said.
