US investors should tap into Pakistan’s markets, especially the textile industry, as many investment opportunities exist here, said the US consul general.
“I have realised during my stay in Pakistan that there are great opportunities here for American investors,” US Consul General in Lahore William K Makaneole stated during a dinner reception hosted in his honour by former President MCCI, Khawaja Jalauddin Roomi, in Multan according to a press release issued on Monday.
The US values its long-standing relationship with Pakistan and that is why whenever Pakistan faces a problem America is the first to step up, maintained the US consul general. “Even during the current floods, the American government stood by Pakistan to fight this calamity since day one,” the statement quoted him as explaining.
“America wants to improve education and health systems, end the energy crisis and eradicate poverty from Pakistan,” he said adding that his country has been working on various projects in Pakistan for a long time and those projects are bearing fruit now. “If both countries expand the investment, the results will be much better for them, the envoy holed.
Talking about the historical city of Multan the consul general said, “Multanites are as sweet as their mangoes, they have excellent skills in every field of life. The citizens are not only hospitable, but their business vision is also very important.”
Welcoming the US delegation, Roomi agreed that the friendship between Pakistan and America is based on sincerity and that both countries come to each other’s aid whenever required. Although there have been ups and downs between the two countries in the past, he stressed that the relationship of love has remained throughout.
