Two arrested for allegedly torturing stepmother

A cab driver was shot dead within the Taxila police limits. According to the police, the cab driver, Kausar Abbas, a resident of Rawalpindi, was called to Taxila by unidentified people on a mobile phone stating that a family has to be picked up and dropped to Jhelum.

When the cab driver reached the street in Taxila, unidentified armed men opened fire on him and killed him on the spot. The assailants escaped, police said.

Taxila Police Station Inspector Qamar said that the victim’s family had been informed and the body had been shifted to the hospital. Meanwhile, a young man, who rides Bykea in Rawalpindi, told the police that Hasan booked a ride for a whole day. He said that when he reached Rahimabad, Hasan took him inside his home and forcibly raped him and threatened him with dire consequences. Police have registered a case and started an investigation. Police said that raids were being conducted to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, a woman was allegedly tortured and beaten by her step-children in the Girja area of Dhamyal of Rawalpindi.

Police sources said that the step-children also tried to burn their stepmother with iron after she refused to do chores as she was not feeling well.

Police arrested two accused and registered a case against them at the Dhamiyal police station. Khalida Bibi stated that after her former husband died, she married Muhammad Aksar, but her second husband was not giving her the rights and his children continue to abuse her every day.

She said that her step-sons Faizan Aksar and Zeshan Aksar tortured her and beat her up.
