People rushed to the popular beaches in the port city to enjoy a Sunday as the sea breeze broke the heat spell which was frying the metropolis for the last few days.
The temperatures were soaring near 38 to 40 degrees Celsius in Karachi last week. Due to the advent of the sea breeze in Karachi, the heat spell that had been persisting for the past few days broke, and the heat-stressed citizens turned to the beach.
The change of wind direction was nothing less than winds of change, bringing smiles to the faces of picnickers.
The most popular and easily accessible beach, Sea View saw a rush of people enjoying surf and wind.
Light rain expected
Under the influence of depression formed in the Bay of Bengal, Karachi is expected to receive light to moderate rain with thunder on Tuesday.
According to Chief Meteorologist Karachi Sardar Sarfraz, the monsoon system formed in the Bay of Bengal is present in the vicinity of Orissa, India.
As a result of this system, there is a 40% chance of rain in Karachi
