High flood forecast for Kotri Barrage

FFC report says all main rivers experiencing 'normal' flow

ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said that River Indus at Kotri Barrage was experiencing a ‘high flood’ and ‘low flood category’ at Guddu-Sukkur Reach.

According to daily FFC report on Wednesday, other main rivers of the Indus River System (Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej) were flowing normally.

The present high-level flooding in River Indus at Kotri was likely to continue.

Tarbela Reservoir was being maintained at its maximum conservation level (1,550 feet) since August 28, 2022.

At present, the water level in Mangla Dam was 1,190.50 feet against its maximum construction level of 1,242 feet.
