RAWALPINDI:

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi’s jurisdiction has been extended to Murree and 24 other union councils of Rawalpindi.

The PHA will carry out beautification and plantation in Murree and all the newly included union councils.

Under the beautification plan, all routes from Rawalpindi to Murree will be beautified.

PHA Chairman Asif Mahmood said that a plan has been formulated to beautify major tourist attractions including parks and roads in Rawalpindi. He said that vibrant lighting will be carried out and computerised LEDs will be installed to enhance the beauty of the city. Similarly, he said giant artificial wild animals and dinosaur statues will be installed along roads while parks will have more children-friendly entertainment toys and accessories.

Under the plan, trees will be planted along the routes emanating from Rawalpindi. In addition to this, Potohar Town's remaining village union councils will also undergo a facelift and tree plantation.
