The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered to make the deputy commissioner west, senior member Board of Revenue and DG kuchi abadis party in a plea against the occupation of 100,000 square yards of land of a school in Orangi Town and directed to submit written reply, relevant documents and master plan.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi heard the petition.
Usman Farooq Advocate took the position that Indus Hospital has given the proposal to the MC to build a hospital and college at the site. The court remarked that once the legal status of the land is determined, other matters will be considered.
The court maintained the injunction against occupation and construction.
The petition said that Indus Hospital is an institution of good repute. Thousands of square yards of land of three schools are being occupied.
A two-judge bench had issued a stay order but the land grabbing mafia has raised walls and started the construction.
Acid attack case
The Sindh High Court has ordered the federal government to submit reply to an application regarding the ban on the sale of acid and other similar deadly substances.
The petitioner's lawyer said that federal government has not yet submitted the reply.
The petition has been filed on behalf of a victim of acid, Ahmar Iqbal and others.
It is not only women who are victims of acid attacks, men also pall prey to this violence. The court was requested that the government should be ordered to pass laws related to sale and transfer of acid. A crackdown should be ordered against acid sellers.
