Twenty prisoners were released from the District Jail Malir on the orders of District and Sessions Judge (South) Hasan Feroz and Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Jahangir.
Both visited the jail with the general secretary of Saiban Welfare Organisation (SWO), Haider Ali Haider and a social worker, Murad Khan, and ordered the release of prisoners.
The jail superintendent, Nazir Hussain Shah, ordered the early release of four prisoners whose terms were almost finished.
The SWO and Murad Khan paid the penalties of six prisoners. The remaining ten will be freed in three to four days after their paperwork is finished.
