Terrorist with Rs2m bounty killed in K-P

The killed terrorist was wanted by the CTD for over a dozen terrorism-related cases

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday killed a terrorist wanted in several cases during a search operation in the border area between Lower Dir and Bajaur districts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, an official statement said.

As per details, the CTD and an intelligence agency received a tip-off that a group of terrorists had gathered at a location named Tangay Lunday Shah to carry out a major terrorist activity.

Special raiding teams of CTD Malakand and intelligence agency were soon formed which began a search-and-strike operation at the aforementioned location. During the raid, the terrorists shot at the raiding teams. As a result, the teams resorted to retaliatory fire.

The shootout between the law enforcers and terrorists continued for some time. When the firing stopped, the teams searched the location and found terrorist named Hayat Mohammad aka Salman dead.

The killed terrorist was wanted by the CTD for over a dozen terrorism-related cases.

The provincial government had put a reward of Rs2 million for the arrest of the terrorist During the body search, a fake CNIC card in the name of Abdul Khaliq s/o Behram Khan was found in the pocket of the deceased terrorist.

Hayat was involved in an IED attack on JUI-F’s former Tehsil Nazim Syed Badshah. The killed terrorist had confessed to his involvment in the attack.

Badshah and six others had sustained serious injuries during the attack.

A large number of police personnel as well as CTD officials are present at the location and the search operation is underway for the arrest of other terrorists.
