RAWALPINDI:

Four people, including an innocent child, were bitten by stray dogs in Dhok Elahi Baksh and Fazlabad, within the limits of Waris Khan police station.

They were brought to the District Headquarters Hospital and Benazir Bhutto General Hospital with severe injuries.

Moreover, the citizens shot and killed three dogs after this incident took place.

As per reports, all four victims were bitten on their legs, and when they were taken to the hospitals medicines were not available to treat them against dog bites.

The child received an injection from the hospital, while the family members of the other three people had to buy injections from the open market.

Councilor of Dhok Elahi Baksh Union Council Asif Khan Jadoon told The Express Tribune, "There are several stray dogs in the area. The number of dog bite incidents is increasing daily. We had requested Municipal Corporation to kill stray dogs, but no action has been taken yet”.

The number of dog bite incidences is escalating, and stray dogs are roaming free across the city. Since the corporation hasn't launched a "Dog Killing Campaign" in the last 30 years, the streets are overpopulated with stray dogs.
