Flood relief activities in Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab continue as Pakistan Army troops assist the civil administration in the affected areas.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), army doctors and paramedic teams are providing medical aid to flood victims as troops shift people to safer areas. Cooked meals and rations are also being distributed among flood affectees.
In Sindh, Army troops reached the flood-affected area of Saim Nullah in district Khairpur after more than 200 houses were destroyed in the region due to the heavy rainfall.
The military's media wing added that troops from the Pano Aqil Garrison took part in the relief operations and shifted flood-affected people to safer areas and provided them medical aid.
In Balochistan - which has seen record-breaking rainfall during the current monsoon season - troops from the Army and the FC continued to aid local administration and were active in rescue and relief operations in Quetta, Pishin, Qila Saif Ullah, Ziarat, Zhob, Loralai and Noshki.
Teams of the Army, FC, PDMA and civil administration are shifting the people to safer places where they are being served cooked meals and other amenities.
Relief and medical camps have also been established in Naseerabad, Duki and Lasbela, said ISPR.
The military's media wing added that efforts are being made to restore communication links and the Zhob-DI Khan route has been restored
Relief activities are also underway in Punjab with troops providing medical care to the affected population of Vehari, Rajan Pur and Dera Ghazi Khan.
A day ealier, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) advised all concerned provincial and federal ministries and emergency departments to ensure prior arrangements to cope with flash floods predicted in rivers and nullahs of Eastern Balochistan.
According to the NDMA advisory, the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) has forecasted moderate flash flooding in the rivers and nullahs of Eastern Balochistan during the next 24 hours and heavy flooding after 24 hours.
It added that 'medium to high-level flooding' is expected in Kabul River at Nowshera, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and tributaries of rivers Kabul and Indus, in Sindh, till Monday.
Moreover, 'high level and above flooding' is likely in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan Division, Punjab, in the next 24 hours.
