Police raids are under way to arrest the alleged rapist

A property dealer allegedly raped a woman on the pretext of getting her a house on rent in Sector I-16, in the limits of Noon police station.

The victim told the police that she lived in F-8/1 and she wanted a house on rent so she approached a property dealer named Azam.

"He told me that he will help me get a house on rent and will also help me find a better job. He took me to Sector I-16 in his car where he forcibly raped me," she said.

Police registered a case against the property dealer, who is at large. Police said raids are under way to arrest the alleged rapist.

Meanwhile, the police conducted raids in different areas and netted eight accused of possessing illegal weapons.

According to a police spokesman, Rattaamral, Bani, Wah Cantt, Saddar Wah, Gujar Khan, Rawat, and Murree police rounded up Hameed, Abdul Salam, Muhammad Aslam, Atif Nawaz, Talha, Abdullah, Babar Hussain and Shehzad on recovery of eight 30-bore pistols and ammunition.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Rawalpindi Waseem Riaz Khan said that strict action in accordance with the law was being taken against lawbreakers.
