Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has made headlines after a report revealed that she was identified as a plaintiff in an anonymous lawsuit from 2016. According to the lawsuit, the Maleficent star had alleged being assaulted on a private plane by her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

According to a report from Puck, as quoted in Variety, Jolie had told an FBI agent that Pitt reportedly 'physically and verbally assaulted her and their children during a flight journey.' The allegations were related to a September 14 plane journey from Europe to the US, during which the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor was accused of embroiling in a physical and verbal altercation with the eldest of the couple’s children, Maddox, who was 15 years old at the time.

Exact details of the alleged incident have remained under wraps, though it’s been widely reported that Jolie filed for divorce — requesting sole physical custody of the children — just five days after the flight in question.

The note by the FBI agent revealed that Pitt allegedly grabbed her shoulder and said, "You're f**king up this family." Jolie also alleged another altercation happened on the same flight which led her to sustain injuries on the elbow. The Eternals actor reportedly also said that her ex-husband poured beer on her as he had been drinking. Pitt's team has denied all the allegations.

In the aforementioned report, Jolie filed an anonymous Freedom of Information Act suit against the FBI after the special agent met with the assistant US attorney and concluded that they would not pursue criminal charges.

Earlier, Pitt was reportedly being investigated for child abuse by both the FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services in 2016. The investigation followed after an incident occurred on his family's private plane. Pitt's team denied the allegations back then too. As per Variety, after that, the Bullet Train actor gave up drinking with no charges filed against him.

Last month, Jolie has won a legal battle against her ex-husband in their highly emotional war over the Chateau Miraval winery, where they tied the knot in 2014. The former power couple had purchased the French winery in 2008 for an estimated $28.3 million and had mutually agreed not to sell their interests in the company at the time. However, Brad later sued Angelina, accusing her of selling her part of the vineyard, reported Page Six.

Aside from its well-known wines, the sprawling 405-hectare French estate is allegedly home to swimming pools and a helicopter pad. Jolie sold her stake to liquor giant Stoli — setting in motion an array of lawsuits in the US, France and Luxembourg between Pitt, Jolie, their respective businesses and various business partners. In the latest skirmish, Jolie’s team subpoenaed documents from Pitt, his business manager and his company, Mondo Bongo.

According to the publication, Pitt’s camp has fought tooth and nail to have a court deny Jolie’s request for the papers and correspondence. Later, a judge in LA said that Pitt and his partners must fork them over to the opposing lawyers — and said that they can’t even hold off until they appeal the decision.

Sources close to the Wanted star’s business operation told Page Six that Pitt’s letting his anger over their vicious split get in the way of common business sense. “Any rational human being would be happy for Stoli to [be a partner in their business. They have top-notch marketing and distribution,” they said, explaining that the firm offers huge opportunities to grow the business. “He just can’t see past his hatred of Jolie.” Hollywood beauty had filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016.
