Like every other fad, funky and edgy eyeliner was a thing of the past and has once again made a roaring comeback, bringing spunk and oomph to our newsfeeds. Bright and bold eyeliner looks are everywhere right now.
From sporting gems on the face to wearing glitter to a night out, the 2022 makeup trends are all about having some summertime fun and we are all for it!
Compiled below are some of our favourite eyeliner/eye shadow looks that Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities have rocked over the years and it’s high-time we get as daring and experimental as them.
- Malaika Arora
She is one such celebrity who manages to floor us with every look every time. Arora donned a glittery sky blue number by Anna Kiki back in the day, which featured exaggerated bold sleeves in a wavy pattern.
The mini, boat neck outfit showed off her chiseled legs. She paired it with black Jimmy Choo boots. Malaika's hair was pulled back into a slick ponytail, keeping the focus on her light blue eyeliner, identical to the colour of her dress. Just enough blush, a well contoured face, glossy pink lips and filled in brows provided for a radiant look. But it was her eyes that left us in awe!
- Hina Khan
One of Indian TV's most popular stars, Hina has sported coloured eyeliner on more than one occasion. Be it a festive occasion or a red carpet event, she loves to go all out with her beauty looks.
We love how Hina opted for a fluorescent yellow eyeliner but decided to combine two colours – black and yellow! The actor went for a wing eye, where she opted for a yellow liner layered with a classic black liner. Looking chic yet classy, Hina’s eyeliner is perfect for a beach vacation look!
- Shailene Woodley
She opted for major neon makeup at the CFDA Fashion Awards back in 2019, when she wore bright neon orange shadow which covered her lids and was spread out onto the sides of her eyes, resembling a face mask.
Allowing her eyes to be the highlight of the night – quite literally – the Hollywood star went with an all-black outfit and simple strappy heels. Now, that is called striking the perfect balance to avoid a fashion faux pas!
