Assistant commissioner robbed at gunpoint

KARACHI:

Assistant Commissioner of the Firozabad area Asma Batool was robbed along with her family at Bahadurabad where she had gone for breakfast on Sunday morning.

The CCTV footage of the crime incident, available with the Express News, shows the accused fleeing after the snatching incident.

A case of the incident has been registered at New Town Police Station. As per reports even an administrative officer could not remain safe from the bandits and was robbed of valuables as she stepped out without protocol for a day out with family.

Batool, her husband and two children were at a famous eatery in the Bahadurabad area to enjoy breakfast, but just as they were crossing the road along with their two children, the suspect riding a motorcycle held them hostage at gunpoint and snatched their mobile phones, purse, and wallet and fled.

In this regard, Batool told Express News that the accused first confirmed that it was her, Assistant Commissioner Asma Batool, then robbed her at gunpoint. The accused escaped after snatching the mobile phone, wallet, ATM card, cash and other essential items on Sunday morning.

The New Town police have registered a case allegation number 2022/332 under section 397 of the crime on her complaint.
