Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to fall on August 31 in Pakistan, keeping the tradition of 29 days of Ramazan alive.
According to the MET office, the first moon of Shawwal is expected to be visible on the eve of August 30.
The position and angles of the new moon at the time of the sunset are also favourable for moon-sighting on that day, said the MET office.
There have only been a few occasions in past the five years when 30 days of Ramazan have been observed in Pakistan.
The first moon of Shawwal will be visible in Khanpur, Bahawalnagar, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin and in the coastal areas of Pasni in Balochistan.
Most Muslim countries which started Ramazan on August 1 will also observe 29 days of Ramazan.
The MET office has predicted dry weather on Eid day.

hi what is moon time sialkot
strong textFast University is not giving holidays of Monday and tuesday. Students are wondering about spending their eid in hostle.
@Khalid Hussain.
Yes all the countries with Muslim majority population are expected to celebrate Eidulfitr on one day on Wednesday Aug. 31, 2011 in response to the Designs, Will and Command of Allah i.e. sighting of Helaal in the sky on the evening of Tuesday. The only problem to the display of this unity at Eid may or may not come from Riyadh. Muslims in Europe and N. America fear, based upon their experiences built over the years, is that the Government Officials in Riyadh produce Helaal from under the hat and may announce Eidulfitr on Tuesday without any proof of the sighting the Helaal there. All the honourable Arabian Ulamah and those in Musjid ul Haraam know very well as to what those officials do, but cannot do anything to change the sacrilegious practices of the Saudi officials. In other words those Ulamah come under duress to defy Allah's Command to Feast on the last day of Rumzaan which will be Tuesday in Arabia and all the West except possibly in the some parts of S. America. The Ulamah also know that many a times millions of innocent Hajees are asembled in Arafat on the 8th day. It happened many a times before as it happened last year. I would sugget that all the ambassadors of Muslims countries in Riyadh should come together to organise search of Helaal on the occasions of the advent of every Rumzan, Eidulfitr and Eidulazhah..
It is very good news that whole world will Celeberate Eid ul Fiter on a day
Eidulfitr in Whole of Asia, Africa, Europe, Central and North America will be on Wednesday Aug. 31, 2011 according to the sighting of Helaal in these continents on the evening of Tuesday 30-08-2011. There is a small chance of Helaal being seen in S.America on the evening of Monday. At the time Helaal is expected to be seen in Chile etc. in Pakistan at that time, people will be getting up for sehree on Tuesday 30-08-2011. The sighting of Helaal S.America does not affect anyone in Asia, Africa, Europe and N. America, There is speculation in informed circle that in Arabia they may Feast on Tuesday Aug 30, 2011 being the last day of Ramadan. They normally, if not usually celebrate this festival of Feasting on the last day of Ramadan there. They do it against the will of the Arabian Ulamah. However their neighbours the Omanese go by the Helaal seen in the sky and their government has already taken a bold step to announce celebrating Eidulfitr on Wednesday to take people out of the limbo on the tried and tested concrete evidence of the data from the Almanac. The fact is that if the Helaal shows up in S America or even further West in Polynesian Islands on Monday then the same Helaal will be seen the next day i.e. Tuesday in Asia and all the way West from there. The Shahadut of search of Helaal from acros the world will be available to see in due course of time on: www.moonsighting.com and www.icoproject.org
given that its the met office that has come up with the prediction i expect Eid to be on the 1st of September :)
31 Aug will be good enough. I have no stamina left for an additional day. Please don't leave the sighting of moon to the judgment of Molvies. It should be done by the metrological office.
