KARACHI:

The Sindh Health Department has prepared an emergency plan regarding the monsoon and rising level of water.

According to the Health secretary, flood advisory will concentrate on the six high-risk divisions providing relief and health services during rain emergencies throughout the province.

The Director General of Health Services will supervise the emergency measures, disease prevention and control in the Sindh province.

He will oversee and monitor emergency activities in his relevant division, supervise the district-level health system, and provide logistic support to the homeless and affected population. Medical Superintendent at THQ Hospitals will direct the procedure at the Taluka level. The medical officer in charge of BHUs will lead operations at the UC or health institution level.

The Divisional Director will play a crucial role as the DHOs and THOs' advocate within the Health Services division. If there is rain or flooding, the affected district will declare an emergency. A rain emergency control room will be established at the Taluka Headquarters Hospitals, all District DHO Offices, and the Provincial Directorate General Health Services in Hyderabad.
