The district administration registered 24 cases against the violators of dengue SOPs and sealed 10 buildings after larvae were found in commercial areas.
A spokesperson for the district administration said that dengue surveillance teams have intensified operations. FIRs have been registered against 24 people for violating dengue SOPs while 10 buildings have been sealed after larvae were found in commercial areas. Notices have been issued to 59 owners of the residential buildings after finding larvae in their houses.
Fines of Rs1,21,000 have been imposed along with FIRs and sealing of the buildings for finding dengue larvae during surveillance. However, the purpose of surveillance was not to impose fine or arrest people, but to ensure implementation of the dengue SOPs.
The spokesperson said that after the recent rains, the breeding of dengue mosquito has accelerated, which poses serious risks to the health of the citizens.
